For an optic we selected the Aimpoint Micro T-1 red dot with a 2 MOA dot. The Micro T-1 has been superseded by the T-2 but we really love it’s clear optics, lightweight and compact dimensions. Of course it is waterproof (down to 80 ft) and just about bullet proof like all Aimpoint products. At 3 oz the T-1 is super light. The battery life is an amazing 50,000 hours or about 5 years of continuous use! The red dot is low dazzle and is fine adjustable to be night vision compatible. 4 adjustment clicks of the large easy to use side knob are for night vision and the other 8 are for daylight. For a mount we chose American Defense. We like the American Defense mount because of it’s quick release, return to zero design and the wide engagement area of its locking claw. The mount is both secure and non-damaging to the rail even though it clamps up very solidly.
