Although Toni System makes just about every component for the AR-15 platform, I still needed a receiver set to work with. Typically, I like to use different receiver sets other than the ordinary ones you often find, however, the Toni System components require a mil-spec receiver set. For this, I turned to my great friend and fellow 2A-Men, Alex Lopez, owner and gunsmith at Western Firearms in Bell, CA. As we looked into his stock, he recently had a shipment of the newer Gen 2 Aero Precision receiver sets and thus decided to go with one. They are machined from 7075-T6 forged aluminum. One unique feature that also sold me on it was that the lower had a new upper tension screw. This allows users to fine tune the fit of the upper and lower receiver through the use of a nylon tipped tensioning set screw inserted in the grip tang of the lower receiver. Thus, provides a tight fit with any standard AR15 upper receiver, which a tight fit is something I always strive for in my rifle builds. In addition, this lower also has a slightly increased magwell flare, allowing for easier insertion of magazines.
