TiQ: What are the critical benefits that the enhanced upper receiver offers?
AP: The handguard mounting platform is forged into the upper receiver, so the upper and handguard are almost one continuous piece. We also changed the top Picatinny section on the upper so it matches completely with the handguard and there are no missing sections as with a standard upper. The forward assist is now retained by a threaded pin instead of a roll pin. The dust cover rod is now retained by a set screw and the barrel nut does not require any timing to fit the gas tube. Simply torque the barrel nut to spec and you’re done.
