Right off the bat, what really caught my eye was this scope’s color. Vortex calls it their stealth black but is closer to a dark burnt bronze. Black is not always the best color for concealment so this is an added benefit when hunting. I would have preferred to go with the Gen2 model but in an effort to keep the build cost down I selected a new Gen1 without sacrificing much. One downside to this scope is how tall the turrets are. They stick out quite a bit, far surpassing the 50mm objective. This isn’t terrible but does make it a bit bulky. It comes with a sunshade and a bubble level. The bubble level is a nice feature when dialing out for long range shots to ensure your turret adjustments are tracking perfectly left, right, up or down. This is also not a small scope coming it at 15.8” (without sunshade) and 35.2 oz. You can tell it is built like a tank but should you happen to damage the scope it is covered by the Vortex VIP warranty. I have personally used this warranty in the past and Vortex’s customer service is second to none. This will add some peace of mind investing a good amount of money into an optic. Buy once, cry once is sometimes good advice but buy twice, cry twice because you broke the first one just sucks!
