PCC: Custom 9mm AR Carbine

“Blowback is a system of operation for self-loading firearms that obtains energy from the motion of the cartridge case as it is pushed to the rear by expanding gases created by the ignition of the propellant charge” (Chinn 1955). This requires a heavier, proprietary bolt carrier than that of a standard direct impingement. The added mass delays the extraction for safer chamber pressure. Because the JP Rifles Enhanced 9mm AR bolt was ramped on the bottom, it provided enough clearance for a standard AR hammer. It’s also modified for Glock mags. This was their first generation and while it had the type of quality you can expect from JP, they have since released a gen 2 that looks to be machined on either side to possibly save weight. The AXTS (Radians) Raptor is a badass charging handle that I like to use with billet receivers and it fits the aesthetics of this build well.
