TiQ: Is there any chance DMR LLC can post the process for new builds?
DMR LLC: Once a customer decides they want to commission a build, we try and find out a little bit of information. We ask about what they want to achieve and figure out what will best suit their needs. We work hard to deliver exactly what our customers want and spend time explaining different options.
Once the parts are decided on and available, we begin by tooling up a match grade barrel blank in the lathe. We indicate off the bore of the barrel and tool it up to where there is as close to zero run out as possible. At that point –
- Barrel tenon is cut
- Barrel receiver threads are cut
- Bolt nose recess is cut (depended on receiver)
- Chamber is stepped out, finished reamed and head spaced.
