This Old Slabside 1911

Millet sights used to be the thing to have but have since went out of business years ago. To install them you had to drill out the slide and use oversize rivets to secure the new sight. The bigger rivets would not shear off like the small stock ones were prone to do. The only thing is that the larger holes I drilled 32 years ago now made it impossible for me to get the slide machined with a dovetail to fit a modern night sight like a Trijicon. I took the front sight to Bolsa Gunsmithing and they hand modified the Millet sight sinking in a tritium vial into it. They then stoned it down to zero for 10 yards. The guys at Bolsa gunsmithing are awesome!
