This Old Slabside 1911
20 of 21

For maximum reliability, Wilson Combat Elite Tactical Magazines are used for serious work while any old 1911 magazine lying around the house is used for casual shooting. The gun seems pretty reliable either way. The gun is fitted really tightly and low power match ammo sometimes did not feed correctly. The barrel, barrel bushing and guide rod were WPC treated, the super slippery Japanese metal treatment used in racing a lot. After that, the gun became very reliable no matter what ammo is used. WPC treatment also made the gun easier to clean. A Wolff 15lb Recoil Spring is used most of the time but a 16lb is also used for hot loads.
