PCC: Custom 9mm AR Carbine

LRK Mechanical put a Tungsten Cerakote over the two receivers and handguard. They did a great job and the paint really complimented the the build well to complete the project. Other than the few issues I previously mentioned, this carbine lived up to expectations. A bit pricey to build for what it was but worth it IMO. It was pretty lightweight and well balanced, with most of the bulk in the middle because of the bolt. It was fast and accurate. Minus the loose stock, it performed great in the carbine class. It was very quiet and other shooters at the range would come over wondering what I was shooting. With today’s cost of ammo, it was considerably cheaper to shoot than 223. 9mm Glock mags are available just about anywhere, come in a bunch of different sizes and work very well. The Taran Tactical Base Pads featured in some of the photos matched particularly well. I had set out to build a good home defense carbine, utilizing the same mags as my home defense pistol and that’s exactly what I did. Unfortunately, I recently had to sell it. I may relocate to a free state in the near future and if so, I’ll look to build another but this time with a much shorter barrel. Recently, there has been a surge of new companies with parts for pistol caliber carbines that have taken over Instagram by storm and I’m confident I won’t have a problem taking this project to the next level.
